Do you also have sensitive skin that reddens and dries out at the slightest touch? Well, look no further! Today I’ll be sharing with you the best makeup removers I have discovered so far this year.
Hey friends, welcome back to another blog post!
Today I’ll be talking about something that’s been very exciting to me recently, and that is makeup removers.
You’re probably thinking to yourself, “what’s so exciting about makeup removers? Aren’t they all the same?”
Well, No! Just like your daily skincare, choosing the right makeup remover is so, so important for your skin, and that is something I did not know until very recently!
As someone who only started experiencing with makeup in college, it took me way too long to learn how to properly cleanse your face according to your skin type. I have always had very dry and sensitive skin that will flare up at even the most gentle cleansers. Needless to say, removing my makeup was never fun with dry blotches and red spots all over my face.
Earlier this year my dry skin was making me so uncomfortable that I decided enough was enough. There HAD to be a better way than what I was doing to remove my makeup. (Btw, if you’re wondering, I was using micellar water most of the time to remove light makeup) So I went through a few months of trial and error and finally shortlisted two of the best makeup removers that I’ve used so far this year, especially for super dry and sensitive skin.
Cow Brand Makeup Cleansing Milk
Cow Brand is a Japanese cosmetic brand and is very popular in Taiwan and often known by many girls as the holy grail of makeup remover for sensitive skin. They’re definitely not lying; the first time I tried it I was amazed by how soft my skin was after using it. It was probably the first time ever that a makeup remover didn’t leave my skin feeling super tight and dry. This makeup remover has a very milky consistency and it’s also fragrance free, which we all know is the way to go for sensitive skin.
This is one of the best makeup removers that I’ve used for removing daily everyday makeup or sunscreen. (Yes, you need to be removing your sunscreen with a makeup remover- everyday!!!)
Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm
This is the second makeup remover I’ll be talking about today, and it’s the one I like to use when I’m removing heavier makeup or if I have the time for a little extra self-care at night.
I recently did a Beauty of Joseon haul (comment down below and let me know if you’d like a review!) and their makeup cleansing balm is definitely one of the best makeup removers I have ever used. This oil-based balm is super gentle and melts into your skin like silk and butter. It can be used to cleanse your base makeup as well as the makeup on your eyes and lips. Slathering this all over your face makes removing your makeup feel super luxurious and makes you feel as if you’re at a spa.
What makes this product a hundred times better is that it’s vegan and cruelty free, which is something we should always been looking out for, right?
This product leaves your skin feeling super plump and moisturized- I can’t recommend it enough!
And ladies, these are the two products that I wholeheartedly recommend if you suffer from extremely irritable skin like mine. I know what it feels like to be constantly worrying about the condition of your skin and I guarantee you understanding your skin and finding the right products for it will make your life so much better!! AND your skin will thank you for it, now and ten, twenty years down the line.
If you also have any recommendations, please let me know in the comments down below! We’re all on this journey to great skin together✨
On a side note, I’ve been really enjoying writing about skincare content. (If you haven’t yet, make sure to check out my last post about the best sunscreens for this summer!) Let me know if you enjoy it as well!
Until next time,

Love these suggestions! I have some of the most sensitive skin ever since getting diagnosed with three autoimmune conditions, so I’m always on the hunt for skincare that won’t irritate me. Thanks for sharing!
